The Tabernacle is Foundation Cigar Company's newest super premium cigar, boasting a Connecticut Broadleaf Wrapper and some of Nicaraguas finest fillers. It is a combination of tastes that calls on founder Nichlos Melillo's roots in the Connecticut River Valley and also his work with the finest artisanal tobacco batches in Nicaragua.
El Gueguense Cigars
El Gueguense (pronounced way when say ) or "The Wise Man" is a true Nicaraguan Cigar, the debut cigar and initial line blended under Master Cigar Maker Nicholas Melillo for Foundation Cigar Company. A true Nicaraguan puro, each bale of tobacco that goes into this cigar is hand selected by Melillo with the filler leaves coming from a special vintage crop from years 2011 and 2012. Melillo is personally overseeing production at the Tobacco Valle de Jalapa (TABSA) facility with production being limited to 225 units per day. El Gueguense is aged in cedar humidors for 30 days before being shipped from Nicaragua ensuring The Wise Man celebrates the Nicaraguan people, land and culture.
El Gueguense Maduro Cigars
Melillo blended the The Wise Man (El GŁegŁense) Maduro using Nicaraguan filler tobaccos from Condega, Esteli, and Jalapa and covered the cigar with a beautiful, oily, and rich San Andres Mexican Maduro wrapper. The blend encompasses bold flavors of black pepper, dark roast espresso and cacao. Medium Full in body and strength and rounded out with a nutty finish.
Master Blender and world tobacco traveler Nicholas Melillo has released the next cigar in the Foundation's lineup. The Upsetters, a blend of Jamaican and Nicaraguan fillers which is a travel story in itself, documenting Melillo's endless trips to tobacco fields and curing barns.
Foundation Cigar President Nick Melillo announces the completion of his newest brand, Charter Oak, set for release at the 2016 IPCPR Show in Las Vegas. Charter Oak also pays tribute to Melillo's grandfather, who while earning a modest salary working for the Winchester Repeating Arms factory after WWII, smoked exclusively, broadleaf cigars manufactured by FD Graves on State St, while, no joke, Rick Ardito's grandfather, a guard at Winchester, also smoked FD Graves biggest selling broadleaf, Muniemakers.
